LASER TREATMENTS

ResurFX

ResurFX is a non-ablative laser device that uses heat to treat a variety of skin problems. It's also known as fractionated non-ablative laser resurfacing (Fraxel®). ResurFX can improve skin texture and tone, soften scars, and promote collagen growth. It can treat conditions such as:

  • Age spots or sun spots

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Hyperpigmentation or discoloration

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Scars from acne or surgery

  • Stretch marks

  • Mild-to-moderate scars

  • Loose skin

ResurFX works by heating the dermis layer, which stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin. This can make your skin firmer, tighter, and more even. The treatment is gentle and has virtually no downtime.

The treatment involves:

  • Cleansing and sterilizing the skin

  • Applying numbing cream for about 30 minutes

  • Sending short laser pulses to the skin

After treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, or a bronzed appearance. You may also notice pinkness over the next few weeks, and a heat sensation for 1–3 hours following treatment. Some patients have experienced itching.

A full recovery from ResurFX can take up to one week. During this time, your skin may be red, irritated, and dry. You should:

  • Avoid wearing makeup for 48 hours after treatment

  • Wear sunscreen immediately after treatment and for 3 months following

  • Avoid sun exposure for a few months following treatment

  • You should not expose your skin to sun or tanning beds for five weeks prior to treatment. You should also discontinue any retinoid products five days prior to treatment.

IPL/Photofacials

This is a laser rejuvenation therapy that stimulates collagen production and treats skin discolorations. It is a pain-free procedure that can improve your skin’s appearance.

How Long Does the Process Take?

IPL photofacials involve a series of treatments, each of which lasts for about 20 minutes to an hour. Typically, clients get 3 to 6 treatments that are spaced one month apart.

How Can You Prepare for the Treatment?

One of the first things to keep in mind when getting an IPL Photofacial is that you need to be tan-free. Why? With a tan, the machine won’t be able to accurately detect the specific areas and concerns that you want to be addressed, increasing the risk of being burned. You should avoid alcohol, aspirin, anticoagulants, ibuprofen, or anything that thins the blood.

What Are The Benefits Of Photofacials?

1.    Reduces Hyperpigmentation and Sun Spots

Although IPL Photofacials aren’t an anti-aging solution, these treatments can help in reducing various signs of aging, such as wrinkles, age spots, sunspots, and others. Since this targets the deeper layers of the skin, IPL works by stimulating collagen production and improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also enhances your skin’s overall texture.

2.    Reduces Skin Redness

If you have rosacea or any other skin condition that diffuses redness into the skin, then IPL therapy is an excellent solution. This treatment reduces the appearance of redness and targets specific areas to create a natural and even-tone complexion.

3.    Helps Control Breakouts

Acne and breakouts can lower one’s self-esteem, making them more conscious about their appearance. IPL treatments can help those with severe acne and who experience redness and inflammation that’s caused by acne. IPL also eliminates large pores and reduces the appearance of acne without the need for topical products that dry out the skin.

4.    Can Be Safely Combined With Other Procedures

The best part about IPL treatments is that this can be done along with other skin treatments, such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and others that target the outermost layer of your skin. IPL photofacials target the deepest layers of your skin, so choosing this along with treatments that target the outermost layers of skin offer even better results.

5.    The Process Is Quick, Easy, and Pain-Free

IPL photofacial treatments take about 15-30 minutes to complete. This is a quick and easy treatment process and is perfect for modern women who need to resume normal activities immediately. Unlike other intensive treatments, IPL doesn’t require any downtime before or after the procedure. This is super quick, easy, pain-free, and convenient!
